Martin Canales
President & CEO
Martin is a health care veteran, with 20 years of direct, hands-on industry experience. While still attending San Diego State University, he advanced to Director of Operations for Diversified Laboratories. He served as Regional Vice President for BioPath Clinical Laboratories and was promoted to Vice President of Marketing for both the Laboratory and Radiology Division after the company was sold to Sun Healthcare (NASDQ: SunH). In 2004 Sun Healthcare sold BioPath including the Radiology division to a venture capital group in New York and Martin left to start Coastal Radiology Services, Inc. He formed a strategic alliance with UCI Medical Center Laboratory and purchased a majority interest in Cogent Diagnostic Laboratories in San Clemente, CA, making him a leader in service and quality in the long term care industry in Southern California. Martin built Coastal into a multi-million dollar company, eventually selling Coastal and Cogent Laboratories to Diagnostic Laboratories, and was named President of Diagnostics. Martin was instrumental in the sale of Diagnostic to a venture capital group in 2008. Martin lives with his family in south Orange County where he’s active in several community and charitable programs.
